Clifford Eugene Cross

Clifford Eugene Cross, age 89, of Talbott, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at his residence. He was a faithful member of Friendsview Baptist Church and was saved at Alpha Baptist Church. Clifford was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and was a 33rd Degree Mason and Shriner. He retired from FoamEx after twenty five years and loved to hunt and fish and loved coaching softball more than anything. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Cross; parents, Howell and Hallie Cross; brother, Johnny Cross; and sisters, Betty Arnold and Joyce “Totsie” Holder. He is survived by his son, Steve (Kim) Cross; daughters, Sandy (Rick) Trent and Sharon (Eric) Denton; grandchildren, Heather (David) Williams, Halle Cross (Bobby), Lukas Denton, Ashley Hayes, Aaron (Jordan) Trent, Jacob Trent, and Courtney (Roy) Wallace; great-grandchildren, Remi, Jace, Walker, Conor, Graham, and Emmy; and sisters, Edith Collins and Glenda Benedict. Special thanks to Ashley Rines and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 30th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Shannon Atkins and Aaron Trent officiating. Military graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 31st at Hamblen Memory Gardens.  Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
