Clifford Eugene Cross, age 89, of Talbott, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at his residence. He was a faithful member of Friendsview Baptist Church and was saved at Alpha Baptist Church. Clifford was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and was a 33rd Degree Mason and Shriner. He retired from FoamEx after twenty five years and loved to hunt and fish and loved coaching softball more than anything. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Cross; parents, Howell and Hallie Cross; brother, Johnny Cross; and sisters, Betty Arnold and Joyce “Totsie” Holder. He is survived by his son, Steve (Kim) Cross; daughters, Sandy (Rick) Trent and Sharon (Eric) Denton; grandchildren, Heather (David) Williams, Halle Cross (Bobby), Lukas Denton, Ashley Hayes, Aaron (Jordan) Trent, Jacob Trent, and Courtney (Roy) Wallace; great-grandchildren, Remi, Jace, Walker, Conor, Graham, and Emmy; and sisters, Edith Collins and Glenda Benedict. Special thanks to Ashley Rines and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 30th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Shannon Atkins and Aaron Trent officiating. Military graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 31st at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
