David Butler, born on September 10, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois. He and his wife of 63 years, Donna, raised their family in Mims, FL where he worked at Kennedy Space Center as a Missile Mechanic. He later attended fire school and worked his way to becoming the Fire Chief of Brevard County, FL for 22 years. David enjoyed fishing, driving through the mountains, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Donna Butler; his children, Sherri (Mike) and Randy (Celeste); his grandchildren, Ronnie (Jessica), David (Anna), Marissa (Dylan), and Nicole; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt, LeeAnn, Darcy, Alayna, Landyn, and Levi. He is preceded in death by his mother Helen, father Dean, and brother Donald. A celebration of David’s life will be held at Community Fellowship in Christ on Saturday, November 29th at 2pm with Rev. Trevor Roberts officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Though David’s earthly journey is over, we rejoice in the promise of his eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (John 4:14). Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
