David I. May, Sr.

David I. May Sr., age 66, passed away May 30th, 2021, at home surrounded by family. He was born October 10, 1954, in Kermit, WV, the son of the late Hubert and Margaret May. David was the eighth of nine children. David was a wonderful husband, dad, and loving papaw. He was faithfully married to his wife, LaDonna, for 46 years. David lived a full life and had many loves including the Ohio State Buckeyes, vacationing with his family, camping at Lost Hollow campground, checking his game camera for any sign of bears, and he never missed an episode of the Price is Right. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler to visit with neighbors and talking on the phone to his friends and family, especially his sisters. But above all, David loved his family and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to surprise or spoil them.  In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma June Vance; and his two brothers, Richard and Ralph May. Surviving in addition to his wife, LaDonna (Chafin) May, are his sons, David I. May Jr., Jeremy (Michele) May, and Michael May; daughter-in-law, Katie May; five grandchildren, Mikayla, Isaac (Amelia), Skyelynn, Savannah, and Shelby May; and various siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday, June 3rd at Morristown Church of Christ. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Minister Blaine Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at The Family Cemetery in Mooresburg.
