David Lawrence Nichols, of Morristown, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 30, 2024. He lost his long battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. David was loved by all who knew him and always had a youthful spirit and enjoyed life. He loved his family and friends and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed one. The Vols football lost one of their biggest fans. He will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lucille Newman and Leonard and Lillie Nichols; parents, Henry Parrish and Dorothy Nichols; sister, Linda Yount; and nephew, Scott Yount. He is survived by his brother, Parrish (Glenda) Nichols, Jr.; sisters, Clara (Ron) Mefford and Margaret “Nita” Bacon; brother, Michael (Carolyn) Nichols; brother-in-law, Ronnie Yount; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Heritage Center for the care they provided for David the last few months. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m. Friday, April 5th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Scott Cline officiating. Interment will follow at Community Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Talbott. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
