David L. Proffitt, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, December 27, 2024. This is not good bye, this is until we meet again. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Cracker Barrel, and blue-light specials at K-Mart. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Virginia Proffitt; daughter, Amy; and brother-in-law, John DiCesare. He is survived by his loving wife of more than fifty years, Christine Proffitt; children, David (Dianna) Proffitt, Robert Proffitt, and Lisa (Shane) Elkins; grandchildren, Corey, Isaac, and Gabe; great-grandchild, Sophie; sisters, Janie (Gary) Holt and Nancy (Don); sister-in-law, Andrea DiCesare; special cousins, Randal and Susan Proffitt; special friend, Rev. Lucian Baker; and several nephews, many cousins, and dear friends. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 2nd at Waters-Large Cemetery in Cosby for graveside services.
