Obituary
Donald Mitchell Kirk, age 92, of Morristown, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 at his residence. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Donald loved his church and family and loved to work on the farm. He always witnessed to people and was very proud of his mission work. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Phillips Kirk; parents, George Frank and Ova Margaret Kirk; brothers, George Frank Kirk, Jr. and Johnny Jack Kirk; sister, Isabelle Walders; and son-in-law, Tom Gietema. He is survived by his children, Deborah Gietema, Jerry Lynn (Pam) Kirk, and James Mitchell (Misty) Kirk; grandchildren, Cory Lynn (Hannah) Kirk, Thomas Kirk (Nikole) Gietema, and Tara Gietema (Christopher) Berry; and great-grandchildren, Finley Kirk, Wyatt Gietema, and Lillian and Aiden Berry. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3rd at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services with Dr. Larry Parrott officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
