Doris Callicutt Stutts, age 99, entered her eternal Heavenly home on Saturday, May 16, 2026. A devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her long and blessed life was marked by unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Doris was a faithful prayer warrior with a gentle spirit, known for her selflessness, kindness, and deep love for her family. She always placed others before herself and was quick to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, Doris grew up singing hymns of faith with her parents and three brothers before later making her home in Morristown. She shared her love of music by playing piano for the Ford family and touched many lives through her quiet strength, compassion, and steadfast faith. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stutts; son, Randy Stutts; parents, Bethel and Ola Callicutt; and brothers, Vernon Callicutt, Byron Callicutt, and Bobby Callicutt. She is survived by her daughters, Terry Stutts and Susan (Jim) Grigsby; grandchildren, Caroline Grigsby and Kyle (Kristen) Grigsby; great-grandchildren, Haven Grigsby and Beckett Grigsby; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Joan Hurd for her loving care and compassion during Doris’s final days; to Kendra and the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice for their kindness and support; and to Billy Hite for his comforting prayers. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 26th at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
