Dorothy M. (Norton) Carpenter

Dorothy M. Carpenter, age 92, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Serenity House. She was a member of Manley Baptist Church and a member of the Young at Hearts Senior Group. She was a beloved mother and friend who adored her own children and others.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Carpenter; parents, George and Effie Norton; grandson, Adam Carpenter; brothers, George Norton, Idle Norton, Pearce Norton, and Shields Norton; and sisters, Ethel Amos, Mary Bailey, Erna Smith, Pearl Mitchell, and Maggie Soloman. She is survived by her son, Wade Thomas Carpenter, Jr.; daughters, Gaylen Carpenter and Priscilla Carpenter; grandchildren, Jonathan (Chelsea) Carpenter and Crystal (Collin) Hamm; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends, Jennifer Emmert Poling and Nancy Muscari and her children. The family will receive friends form 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Tony Buchanan and Rev. Ronald Dimealine officiating. Family and friends will meet for 2 p.m. graveside service on Wednesday, May 11th at V.A. Mountain Home National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to funeral home toward funeral expenses. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
