Dorothy Evelyn Moore Dearing, age 92, of Jefferson City, moved to her heavenly home on Monday, May 4, 2026. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Morristown, TN. She exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman. “Her children arise up and call her blessed.” She was by her husband J.C.’s side as he traveled for his job as a journeyman electrician. His job took him to Ohio, VA, WV, NY, and NJ, and eventually back to TN. She was also by his side when he opened Dearing Heating and Cooling in 1969 where she was office manager. The company they purchased heat and air units from awarded points toward trips which gave them the opportunity to visit many places including Spain, Portugal, Rome, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Germany, Mexico, a cruise down the Rhine River and a Bahama Cruise. After turning the business over to sons, James and John Dearing in 1988, they moved to Alabama where Dorothy worked for the State of Alabama in Public Safety and retired after 10 years. In 1998 they moved back to Tennessee and she managed a Curves for Women for 3 years, owned by her daughter, Carol. She and J.C. truly had a blessed life. Dorothy was a blessing to many and was loved by everyone who met her. Those who welcomed her to Heaven were her husband of 68 ½ years, J.C Dearing; grandsons, Jeremy Brooks, Travis Vineyard, and Chad Dearing; brothers, Milton Moore and Jimmy Moore; and sister, Betty Smith.
