Earl Yount Obituary

Earl Grant Yount, age 72, of Morristown, formerly of Sneedville, Tennessee, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 20th 2020 at his home with family and loved ones. Growing up, he was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church in Sneedville and regularly attended Gray Court Church of God and Prophecy with close friends and family. Throughout life, he prided himself as a blue-collar worker and a true craftsman. His love of hobbies included anything working with his hands, woodworking, and automotive restoration (paint and body). Most of his career in Morristown was split between Quality Craft and Shelby Williams where he designed and created tools to produce Shelby Williams unique furniture details. He retired from Shelby Williams in 2008, after twenty plus years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo Yount and Lennie Mae Yount Ellis; stepfather, John Ellis; and sisters, Arnella Green, Ruth Drinnon, and Alafair Hart of Sneedville, TN. He is survived by his wife and best friend of thirty-eight years, Geneva Yount; children, Gary Yount, Patricia Brown, and Brian Yount of Morristown; brothers, Buster Yount, Junior Yount, and Johnny Yount of Sneedville; grandchildren, Kayla Murray and Trevor Brown of Morristown; great-grandchildren, Cameron Murray and Emma-Jane Weld of Morristown. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 26th from 5 – 7 p.m. at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 27th at the funeral home with Rev. John Ricketts and Rev. Blaine Kelley officiating.
