Edith (Cornwell) Quarles

Edith Quarles, age 93, of Talbott, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Jefferson Park Nursing Home in Dandridge. She was a member of Talbott-Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired as a secretary at Talbott Elementary School after several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Quarles; parents, C.L. and Fern Cornwell; daughter-in-law, Rena Quarles; brothers, Hugh, Wayland, Ross, J.C., Kenneth, and Billy Cornwell; and sister, Jean Williams. She is survived by her sons, Danny Quarles and Tim Quarles; grandson, Chase (Meagan) Quarles; great-grandchildren, Harper and Hadley Quarles; sister, Marcella Franklin; brother, Lowell Cornwell; several nieces and nephews; and friend of the family, Joseph Elbaz. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Richard Snowden and Rev. Josh Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be given to Talbott-Cumberland Presbyterian Church.   Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
