Ellis H. Winstead

Ellis H. Winstead, age 93, of Morristown, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 at his residence. He attended Alpha Baptist Church. Ellis was the owner and operator of United Realty. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was always known as a jokester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ephraim and Ona Winstead; son, Eddie Winstead; brothers, W.D. Winstead, George Winstead, Bobby Winstead, and Raymond Winstead; and sister, Dorothy Bishop. He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Betty Winstead; daughters, Janice Winstead and Debbie Winstead; step-son, Jeff Wills; grandchildren, Thomas Purkey and Angela (Larry) Moore; great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Xander, and Mallory Moore; special caregivers, Kim Vaughn and Judy Kesterson; several nieces and nephews; and fur baby, Missy. The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, October 20th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Heath Smith and Rev. Josh Carter officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, October 21st at Jarnagin Cemetery for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
