Franklin L. “Franky” Whitehead, age 71, of Talbott, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer. Franky was a Christian and he professed his love for the Lord at an early age. For over 22 years he worked for Panther Creek State Park and drove Bus #44 for Hamblen County Schools. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Whitehead and Mary Ruth Brock; grandmother, Mary Bacon; and infant grandson, Scotty Lynn Laughner. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis (Deanie) Lampkin; daughter, Angela (John) Silver; grandson and special caregiver, Joshua A Phillips; and granddaughters, Brandi Phillips, Brian Christian, and Sabrina Stokes. Franky was many things but the one thing he loved more than anything was being a great-grandfather to Olivia, Nijah, Karlee, Emersyn, and Paisley. Graveside services were held on Saturday, October 1st at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 6 p.m. Monday, October 3rd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
