Fred Ellis Campbell, age 77, of Bean Station, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at his residence following a lengthy illness surrounded by his family. He was saved as a young man at Calvary Baptist Church in Mooresburg and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Mooresburg. Fred’s main goal in life was to be a good provider for his wife and daughter. He was a very compassionate and humble man and a giver to those in need. He enjoyed going to church and singing in the choir until his health prevented him from doing so. He worked at numerous factories for many years and retired from TRW after twenty eight years of service. He was an avid collector of guns and knives. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, his baby girl, Beverly June Campbell; father, Jack Campbell; mother, Betty June Baine of Knoxville; and mother and father-in-law, Lacey and Ollie Phillips. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty seven years, Patty Campbell; special niece, Cindy Mitchell; his very good friend, Rickey Mitchell, whom he shared many stories with on the carport; a host of family and friends; and special pet, Clyde. Special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice for the great care he received the past few weeks and also to his special caregivers, Becky Coffey Hatfield, Betty Fleenor and her daughter, Tabby, and many thanks to numerous people for their acts of kindness and prayers during his illness. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 15th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dale Harris and Rev. Truman Coffey officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16th at Dalton Cemetery in Bean Station for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
