Garrett Edward “Ed” Earls, age 81, of Morristown, Tennessee, passed away on Monday May 19th, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family. Ed was an incredibly talented woodworker and mechanic who could make or fix anything. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, and listening to Bob Seger. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and papaw, and the best cat-dad to his “baby” Samantha. Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Laura Earls; his son, Jeffrey Earls; and his parents, Garrett and Bernice Earls. He is survived by his son, Michael Earls (Connie); granddaughter, Megan Earls Elliott (Seth); sisters, Betty Hatmaker (Jerry) and Linda Dalton (Jim); and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice and all their staff for the care they provided. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, May 23rd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunderland Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
