Gary Glenn Koontz

Gary Glenn Koontz, age 48, of Bean Station, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville surrounded by those who loved him most. He was a kind, loving soul who had a laugh that could make even the darkest day a little brighter. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bea and Carl Collins and Claude and Maude Purkey. He is survived by his wife, Christy Koontz; daughters, Kylee and Hannah Koontz; step-children, Matthew Purkey and McKayla Myers; loving parents, Helen and Glenn Koontz; brother, Kurt Koontz; grandchildren, Ayla Staley, Ashton Koontz, and Gracie Myers; as well as a host of other family and special friends. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Clifford Dalton and Kathy Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at First Independent Freewill Baptist Church of Bean Station Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
