Gary R. “Big G” Epps, age 71, of Morristown, went to be with Jesus on Friday, January 22, 2021. Gary faithfully preached, walked, talked, sang, taught, testified, and worshipped the ONE that he is with eternally. He loved his Lord, his family, and his church. Gary was the owner of Epps Construction for over forty-five years. He was a member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and Sunday School teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.J. and Mildred Epps; brother, Michael Epps; sister and brother-in-law, Loeita and Wayne Brooks; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mack and Virginia Parker. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Jackie Epps; sons, Ronnie (Leah) Epps and Brad (Holly) Epps; daughter, Jill (Anthony) Farmer; granddaughters, Chloe Epps, Emma Farmer, and future granddaughter, Gabriella Grace Epps; brothers and sisters, Eddie (Phyllis) Epps, Rev. Randy (Delores) Epps, Wanda (Rev. R.J.) Seal, Trish (Clarence) Moyers, Steve (Thelma) Epps, Terry Epps, Rex (Robin) Epps, and Lori (David) Turner; sisters-in-law, Jerri Crockett and Judy Crockett; brother-in-law, Frank Parker; and many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30th at Cherokee Heights Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Tim Jones and Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The funeral service will be live-streamed on Cherokee Heights Baptist Church Facebook Page. The family respectfully request everyone attending the service to please wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
