Geneva “Gertrude” Marks, age 81, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at her residence. Mom heard Jesus call her name and left this world of pain and suffering, not because she did not believe in the healing touch of Jesus, but because her healing came, for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She joins her beloved daughter, Jennifer C. Ferguson Winstead who preceded her in death. Gertrude was widowed by John L. Marks and Lester R. Lawson. She was also preceded in death by former husband, R.J. Ferguson; parents, Charlie and Slonia Collins; brothers, Charlie, Jr. (Sissy) and Cliff (Betty); and nephew, Larry Collins. She leaves behind her daughter, Terry Cantwell Marks (William); son-in-law, Bobby Winstead; grandchildren, Brad (Christy) Winstead, Nikki Winstead (Brad Weems), Randall (Amanda) Couch, and Ben (Anna) Cantwell; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Winstead, Connor Weems, Riley Couch, and Caleb, Catherine, Elisa, and Liberty Cantwell; and special friends, Gerena and Matthew, Reagan and Joslyn Massengill, Barbara Polley, Gladys Hickey, Peggy Devotie, and Dora and Boone Hickey. Special thanks to the nurses of Sun Crest Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1st at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Ben Cantwell, Rev. William Marks, and Rev. Carl Downy officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2nd at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
