George Cook III

George Cook III, age 72, of Whitesburg, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a member of Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Bybee. George was a loving and devoted father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Cook; and parents, George II and Martha Cook. He is survived by his son, Jamie (Gina) Russell; daughters, Melinda (Richard Graf) Painter and Melissa Hensley; sisters, Pauline (Mark) Roberts and Debbie Susong; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, April 20th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Allen Payne and Rev. Roger Porter officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21st at Bear Creek Church Cemetery in Bybee for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
