Georgia Ridley Carter, age 74, of Morristown, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 after an extended illness. She was a member of Kidwell Ridge Baptist Church. She loved to cook and garden and was an avid Vols fan. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy. She was preceded in death by her father, George “Buster” Ridley; mother, Irene Ridley; and brother, Claude Ridley. She is survived by her twin sons, Richard and Robert Carter; daughter, Michelle (Jason) Wright; grandchildren, Ryan (Whitley) Carter, Hunter (Rachel) Carter, Haley Singleton, Noah Carter, Jenna Carter Revel, Kylie Wright, and John Weston Carter; several great-grandchildren; special friends, Harve Long, Tony Williams, and Irene Kesterson; and her beloved dog, “Chili.” The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice for their exceptional love, compassion, and care, especially to Ashley Murrell, Ashley Hodge, Ashley Hammer, Felisha Stewart, Shirley Brisentine, and Matt Barnes. Also, a special thank you to caregivers, Tina Murr and Rachel Carter. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, February 5th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Danny Lamb officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, February 6th at Kidwell Ridge Church Cemetery for graveside services.
