Georgia Ruth Smith Cochran, age 94, of Talbott, answered God’s call on Sunday, March 28, 2021. He said, “Enter true and faithful servant.” She was a faithful member of White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church attending until the COVID pandemic. Georgia Ruth was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long-time employee of Life Care of Jefferson City. Mother was an avid reader of the Bible and loved the Lord. She also loved to cook, read Amish books, and watch Wheel of Fortune. She loved her dog, Tiki and her cockatiel, Charlie. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Georgia Smith; husband, Gene Cochran; brothers, Ed, Harold, Glenn, and Charles Smith; sisters, Nellie Rhea and Edna Fox; and her pet dog, “Tiki,” which was always by her side. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Arlene (David) Heck, Linda (Kenny) Bibbins, and Sherrie (Blake) Foshie; grandchildren, Michael (Misty) Heck, Scott Heck, Christy (Josh) Powell, Sarah (Austin) Snider, Jared Bibbins, Amber (Zack) Roach, and Josh (Amber) Foshie; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks for the great care from Dr. R. Gupta and staff, and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Special thanks to Michelle Wright for all the care and love over the past few years and to Donovan Haynes for special care in her last hours. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31st at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tom Wells officiating. Family and friends will meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1st at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum for entombment services. The family request everyone attending the service to please wear masks and practice social distancing.
