Herman Allen Mutter

Herman Allen Mutter, age 93, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in Korea. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward and Mattie Sue Mutter; grandsons, Kevin Owen and Landon Milligan; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Janice Grooms Mutter; children, Allen Lee (Tammy) Mutter, Terri (Mark) Milligan, Mark Mutter, and Keith (Amy) Mutter; grandchildren, Bryson Mutter and Ashley Mutter; great-grandchildren, Arista Owen and Austin Owen; brothers, Michael Mutter, Larry Mutter, and Donnie Mutter; sisters, Carlene Brotherton, Rhonda Blair, and Debra Simpson; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Merchants Greene Healthstar and Covenant Healthcare. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 2nd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Chaplain Chris Hodge and Pastor Brian Blair officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, January 3rd at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
