Howard Lee Overbay, age 71, of Mooresburg, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Powell surrounded by his family. He attended Adriel Baptist Church in Bean Station and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans, American Legions Post 21, and the Disabled Veterans of Morristown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mattie (Miller) Overbay; sister, Grace Walker; brothers, Harrell and Carroll Overbay; and his first wife, Janie Sue (Owens) Overbay. He is survived by his wife, Kaye Stuffle Overbay; son, Travis (Heather) Overbay; daughter, Amber (Shawn) Stuffle; grandchildren, Connor Overbay, Ty Overbay, Halli Stuffle, and Molli Stuffle; brothers-in-law, Eddie Walker, Larry Owens, and Jerry Owens; sisters-in-law, Betty Stuffle, Faye Stuffle, June Woods, and Betty Mims; and his baby, “Jazzy.” Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22nd at Heath Chapel Cemetery in Bean Station for graveside services with Rev. Tim Collins officiating and with military honors. Pallbearers will be Marvin Rich, Terry Johnson, Johnny Baker, Ty Overbay, Jody Cider, and Colin Cider. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Miller, Johnny Rosenbalm, Tex Jones, Doug Jones, and Dennis Whitaker. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
