Imogene Jones Riley, age 87, of Morristown, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 09, 2024 at The Heritage Center in Morristown. She was born on May 3, 1937, and raised in Hancock County and then moved to Morristown with the love of her life, Husband E.J. Riley. Imogene was a faithful member of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. She was a loving mother, mamaw, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. You would often see her sitting in her carport socializing with family, friends, and neighbors stopping by for a visit. Of course, you always got a “Lord honey bless your heart” and she always made you feel good when you were around her, and you always felt uplifted and happy when you left. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carson and Virginia Jones; husband of fifty years, E.J. Riley; sister, Betty Barnard; brothers, Otis Jones, Bobby Joe Jones, and W.C. “Sonny” Jones; sister-in- law, Shelby Jean Jones; and brothers- in- law, Faye Barnard and Claude Buddy Alder. She is survived by her son, Eddie (Diane) Riley; daughter, Debbie (Lee) Helton; grandchildren, Greg Frazier, Jeremy (Amanda) Frazier, and Travis (Alex) Frazier; great grandchildren, Cameron Barnard, Riley Frazier, Molly Frazier, Pressley Frazier, Elliot Frazier, Emmitt Frazier, and Bennett Frazier; twin brother, Alfred Jones; brothers, Grover (Iletta) Jones, and Benny (Linda) Jones; sister, Ruth Alder; sisters- in- law, Vonda (Dennis) O'Dell, Linda Jones, Janice Jones, and Faye Riley (Howard) Sheets; a host of precious nieces and nephews; special friend, Joann Ivy; and a host of loving neighbors and friends too numerous to mention. The family will receive friends from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 12th at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church 4295 Maple Valley Rd. Morristown, TN 37814. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Barry Warren and Rev. Dennis Alder officiating. Family and friends will meet for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service on Thursday June 13th at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family would like to give a special thank you to nurses, Cindy, Missy, Amy, Lisa, and staff at the Heritage Center. The family would also like to thank the hospice nurses. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
