James E. Patterson, age 79, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Serenity Hospice Home. He was a member and Deacon of Talbott Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired From Roadway after 30 plus years of service. He was a devoted husband and father and his family was his greatest joy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Butler; and father, James Patterson. He is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Bobbie Ann Patterson; daughter, Becky (Michael) Sewell; son, Michael (Melissa) Patterson; grandchildren, Brent (Jessica) Sewell, Matthew (Morgan) Sewell, and Dylan Patterson; great granddaughter, Mattison Sewell; brothers, Kenneth Knight and Benjamin Butler; also several nieces, nephews, and Roadway family. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Smoky Mountain Hospice and Serenity House in Morristown. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday, November 18th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Henegar and Rev. Lee Quinn officiating. Family and friends will meet for a 10 am graveside service on Thursday, November 19th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
