Obituary

James Delano “Jim” Keener, born June 30, 1940, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday, April 2, 2021. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and retired as a Major. He was a member of the local Vietnam Veteran’s Association, Chapter 1073. He was a member of the Community Fellowship in Christ Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Keener; and mother, Julia E. Keener. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Phyllis A. Keener; son, Forest (Kim) Keener; daughter, Erin (Scott) Montgomery; and granddaughters, Brooke and Amanda Montgomery. In memory and in lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (Parkinson’s). Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
