James “Jim” Paul Trobaugh, age 82, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Ridgeview Terrace Life Care after a brief illness. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Asarco Mines. He served fifty two years with the West Hamblen County Fire Department. Jim loved hunting, water skiing, traveling, and farming. When he was able, he attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Irene Courtney Trobaugh; brothers, Lloyd and John D. Crocker, and Edgar, Francis, Kenneth, Vernon, Dale, and Tom Trobaugh; and sister, Arlene Creech. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Judy L. Trobaugh; daughter, Lorie (Nick) Diamond; granddaughter, Miley Jane Diamond; and brothers, Johnny (Vickey) Grooms and Bill and Frank Crocker. Special thanks to the staff of Ridgeview Terrace, especially “D” Hall, and those from other areas, for their exceptional love and care for him and the family. Also, special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their love and care. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. Friday, March 13th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Pleasant View Baptist Church or the West Hamblen County Fire Department. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
