James “Pondy” Drinnon, age 93, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Pondy worked for ENKA for thirty-eight years and was a constable for forty-eight years. He served with the Lion’s Club helping with the Elementary basketball tournament for many years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Marie Drinnon; daughter, Linda Sue Drinnon and Judy Elaine Bishop; son, Wayne Driggers; grandson, James Charles Short; brother, Roy Drinnon; and sister, Juanita Potter. He is survived by his son, Billy Joe Drinnon and his fiancé, Kimberly Blake; daughter, Brenda (Al) Morgan; grandchildren, Tammy Jackson, Rita Charleston, Nancy Jean Bishop, Angelina Marie Dotson, Tony Frye, and Jamie Morgan; and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, July 23rd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24th at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
