James “Verlyn” Reynolds, age 87, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Jefferson Park Nursing Home in Dandridge. He was a volunteer for the Morristown Rescue Squad for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Reynolds; daughters, Deborah Solomon and Devonia Chipps; parents, Shelby and Margaret Reynolds; and brothers, Clarence Vernon Reynolds and Virgil Reynolds. He is survived by his son, Darius Reynolds; grandchildren, Jessika (Bryant) Lilly, Jennifer Solomon, Jason (Mandy) Brinkley, and Jordan Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Colebi Valentine and Camryn Reynolds; sister, Virginia Jo Jarrell; nephew, Kenny (Jackie) Noah; niece, Clarencine (Ronnie) Hawk; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to the staff at Jefferson Park Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, January 25th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 26th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
