Janet Marie (Mitchell) Brown

Janet Marie Brown, age 73, of Morristown, born June 14, 1951, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 at her residence. She was a long term member of Manley Baptist Church. She graduated from Scott County High School in Madison, WV in 1969. Janet was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her mother, Zella Marie Mitchell; father, Samuel Austin Mitchell; siblings, Denley Mitchell, Paul Mitchell, Eudoris Kingery, Winfred Mitchell, Tommy Mitchell, Pauline Welch, RosaLee Myers, and Johnny Mitchell; daughter, Geri Lynn Martin; and son, Rubin Lee Coffey II. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of forty one years, Ronnie Brown; daughter, Bridgette (Bobby) Willis; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Coffey (Chris Ball); son-in-law, Phillip (Geri) Martin; step-son, James Scott Harmon; grandchildren, Cori (Thomas) Pettry, J.T. Thompson, Rubin Lee Coffey III, Madison Thompson, Drake Coffey, and Cyrus Coffey; and great-grandchildren, Talia Pettry and Kamdyn Barnard. Special thanks to Caris Hospice and the Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System Behavioral Unit.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, December 5th at Manley Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm at the church with Rev. Tony Buchanan officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1 pm Friday, December 6th at Bells Campground Cemetery in Powell, Tn. for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
