Janice Simpson Cook, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a member of Morristown Baptist Tabernacle. Janice was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and devoted her life to her family. Many ladies called her mama Jan because she was a mother to many. She loved to cook and loved going to church. She worked hard all her life and was a caregiver at many nursing homes. Janice was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She was born to the late Howard and Evelyn Simpson and was also preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years, Donald Cook. She is survived by her children, Donald, Jr. (Ruby) Cook, Amy (Don) Wright of Midway, and Tracy (Freddi) Rodriguez of Monroe, North Carolina; grandchildren, Moriah, Freddi, Jr., and Charity; siblings, Dr. Ronnie (Frances) Simpson of Concord, NC, Terry (Rhonda) Simpson of Indian Trail, NC, and Vickie (Richard) Quick of Lancaster, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respects from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Monday, May 11th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 12th at Westfield Church Cemetery in Chesterfield, South Carolina with Rev. Doug Benton and Rev. Mike Qualls officiating.
