Janie "Dot" Doris (Collins) Skeen-Lawson

Janie “Dot” Doris Skeen Lawson, age 88, of Talbott, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Serenity Hospice House. She was a member of White Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a devoted and faithful Christian who loved the Lord. She retired from Walmart and also worked for many years at Lea Wayne Knitting Mill, Magnavox, and Eddie’s Lamp and Shade, where she worked along- side her husband. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Skeen; second husband, James Lawson; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Doug (Judy) Skeen; grandchildren, Kevin (Monica) Skeen, Eddie (Joy) Skeen, and David (Jessica) Young; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Neva) Collins; and sisters, Barbara Hodge and Jimmie Parton.  The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 23rd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tom Wells officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for graveside services.
