Jerry “Dana” Rines, age 72, of Newport, formerly of Morristown, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his residence with his family at his side. He served as a Morristown Police Officer for nine years and was a Captain with the Sheriff’s Department for four years and a barber for over thirty. He was an avid member of the NRA and all things related and loved going to gun shows with his son, J.D. He also loved to travel to Keywest with Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall James “Tater” and Mary Ruth Rines; and grandparents, Jefferson and Pearl Rines. He is survived by his wife, Anna Carol “Sweet Pea” Trentham; children, Marshall “Buster” (Vickie) Rines, Lisa (Roger) Stalans, J.D. Rines, Tiffany Miller, and Stevie (Mason) Miller; and grandchildren, Jessica Caldarera, Benjamin Stalans, Megan Rines, Jaylen Moore, Avery Moore, Ryder Miller, and Seth Miller. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 9th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 10th at Hamblen memory Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
