Jimmy Clyde Thompson, age 71, of Morristown, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at his residence. Jimmy was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He attended the Potter’s House Church under the leadership of Bishop Anthony Spann. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Nelson Thompson and sam Ella Blanton; and son, Jimmy Dewayne Nelums. Jimmy is survived by his son, Derrick Hamilton of Washington D.C.; grandchildren, Lillian Hamilton and Logan Hamilton of Maryland; sister, Lillie Blanton Howard of Morristown; brothers, William (Marulyn) Blanton of Knoxville, Bobby (Claudia) Thompson of Woodbridge, VA, and Terry Blanton of Macon, GA; special friend, Kim of Morristown; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. Friday, September 27th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bishop Tony Spann officiating.
