Jimmy Ira “Big Guy” Compton, age 47, of Russellville, passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2021 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Jimmy grew up in Floyd County, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing, singing, and spending time with family. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Ann Compton; and his father, Jimmy Luther Compton. He is survived by his sisters, Cher Collins and Scott Irvin, Tammy Wicker and Scott Shultz, and Emogene and Mark Gayheart; his nieces and nephews, Devon Collins and Amanda Samons, Aaron and Megan Collins, Matthew Gayheart, Kirsten Ordway, Ada and Stephen Morrison, Amber and Zach Lovejoy, Britny Collins, Marcus and Tasha Gayheart, and Chelsie Hoover and Tanner Thompson; his six great nieces and three great nephews; and his bodyguard, Johnathon Cox. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. Jimmy was a great father figure and best friend to many. He never met a stranger. Every person in the world, to him, was just a friend he hadn’t met yet. He always saw the good in life and taught us the same. We will all carry his love and memories in our hearts. We all love you Big Guy, rest easy. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
