Johnny Wayland Barnard, age 67, of New Tazewell, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Claiborne County Hospital. He was saved at eight years old at Howerton Missionary Baptist Church and a member there until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Wayland and Catherine Heneritta Barnard; and sister, Nancy Conley. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Barnard; sons, Johnny (Crystal) Manning and Brad Barnard; daughter, Cynthia (Gary) Ray; grandchildren, Colin and Emma Ray, Jalynn Brooks, and Eric and Aidin Manning; sister, Kathy (Tony) Walker; and brother-in-law, Bill Conley. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, February 2nd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Reggie Large and Rev. Lowell Welch officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, February 3rd at Pearson Turner Cemetery for graveside services. Pallbearers will be Luke Ray, Mike Cope, Dennis Reece, James Ausmus, Marty Conley, Keith Elliott, and Junior Maples. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
