Karen R. Goerler, age 50, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. She lived in Alaska for twenty-five years and was an avid Seahawks fan. She loved to travel and her family was most important to her. She was a deputy clerk for the Hamblen County Court House and loved her work family. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Goerler; grandmother, Grace Marshall; grandparents, John and Esther Goerler; and grandfather, Orville Carlton. She is survived by her mother, Brenda Goerler; sisters, Kelly (Rick) Gilchrist and Valerie (Lee) Stone; nieces, Ashlee Barnholdt and Gabby Henriquez; nephew, Mark Matthews; great nephew, Liam “Sweet Baby”; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5- 7 p.m. Friday, August 31 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A prayer service will follow at 7 p.m. with Father Patrick officiating.
