Katherine Ann (Smith) Mahan

Katherine Ann Smith Mahan, age 86, of Talbott, departed to be face to face with the Lord at Signature Lifestyles assisted living on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. She was a registered nurse, having received an Associate of Science in nursing from Walters State and Bachelor of Science from Tusculum College. Her profession was devoted to geriatrics and mental health nursing. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Blanche Smith; husband, Doyle Mahan; son, Neal Stephen Silver; and brothers, Gordon and Dale Smith. She is survived by her sisters, Doris Standifer of Talbott and Willistene (Charles) Cannon of Talbott; niece, Kim (Bruce) Thompson of Rutledge; nephew, Anthony Smith of Morristown; great nephews, Josh (Brooke) Thompson of Bean Station, Colby (Amber)Thompson of Rutledge, Brice Smith and Logan Smith of Morristown. The family extends their gratitude to all who have cared for Katherine during her illness. The family will have a private service. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
