Kay Overbay Whitaker, age 79, of Knoxville, formerly of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Claiborne Health and Rehab Center. She was a member of Adriel Baptist Church in Bean Station. Kay was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Whitaker; son, Jayme Overbay; parents, Jeff and Maxine Golden; and brother-in-law, Aubrey Douglas. She is survived by her son, Jason Overbay; step-son, Jeremy Whitaker; grandchildren, Olivia Keely, Andrew Overbay, Finn Overbay, and Seth (Emily) Overbay; great-granddaughter, Leighton Overbay; sisters, Joyce Douglas, Vonda (Frank) Dean, and Phyllis (David) Sigler; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Stacey Lawson officiating.
