Larry Carl Rymer, age 80, of Morristown, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a member of True Life Church and a graduate of Carson-Newman College. Larry was a retired teacher and coach for over thirty years. His dedication to education and sports left a lasting impact on his community. Being a coach for several years, Larry formed many special and lasting relationships with countless players, coaches, and parents. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved playing golf and tennis, giving tennis lessons for many years. Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Zella Rymer; and sisters, Pat Surrette and Barbara Greene. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Kathy Rymer; son, Justin (Brandi) Rymer; grandchildren, Cooper, Cohen, and Kylee; also a special group of girls whom he coached in the 1975 State Tournament, the White Pine Cyclones. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, March 24th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Inman officiating.
