Larry Wayne Talley “Pistol,” age 76, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was a member and former deacon at Rocky Point Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army. Larry was retired from American Enka/BASF where he worked for over 30 years. He coached football, baseball, and softball for more than 25 years and made a positive impact on the lives of many young people. He was a member of the Hamblen County Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame. He enjoyed reading, bowling, and owning Tennessee walking and racking horses. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ruth Lee Talley; parents, Lloyd and Sarah Talley; brother, Dennis K. Talley; sister, Mae Duncan; and sisters-in-law, Anita Carpenter and Wanda Jones. He is survived by his son, Dennis W. (Dana) Talley; daughter, Lee-Ann (Tom) Kiser; granddaughter, Lindsey Talley; grandson, Brandon (Alena) Talley; great-grandsons, Easton and River Talley; special family friend Jeremy Tullock; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, September 14th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Sonny Fultz officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. FRiday, September 15th at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
