Larry Wayne Talley

Larry Wayne Talley “Pistol,” age 76, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was a member and former deacon at Rocky Point Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army. Larry was retired from American Enka/BASF where he worked for over 30 years. He coached football, baseball, and softball for more than 25 years and made a positive impact on the lives of many young people. He was a member of the Hamblen County Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame. He enjoyed reading, bowling, and owning Tennessee walking and racking horses. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ruth Lee Talley; parents, Lloyd and Sarah Talley; brother, Dennis K. Talley; sister, Mae Duncan; and sisters-in-law, Anita Carpenter and Wanda Jones. He is survived by his son, Dennis W. (Dana) Talley; daughter, Lee-Ann (Tom) Kiser; granddaughter, Lindsey Talley; grandson, Brandon (Alena) Talley; great-grandsons, Easton and River Talley; special family friend Jeremy Tullock; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, September 14th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Sonny Fultz officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. FRiday, September 15th at Hamblen Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Knoxville. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
