Laura Marie Owens

Laura Marie Owens, age 54, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at her residence. She was an avid pet lover and loved her cat, Smudge. She adored her niece and nephew, Abby Johnston and Owen “Peanut” Rice. She was preceded in death by her father, James Hugh “Jimmy” Owens; mother, Carolyn Owens Walker; step-father, Frank Walker; sister, Karen Snowden; grandparents, Jim and Mildred Owens and Laura Christine and Grover Paul Bryant; aunt, Beverly Shelton; and uncles, David Bryant and Marvin Bryant. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Johnston; special aunts, Emmy Bryant Williams and Trish Inman; special boyfriend of fifteen years, Greg Flora; and several other special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Special thanks to her aunt, Emmy Bryant Williams for her love and care during the past few years. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, January 17th at Fairview Bible Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the church with Rev. Lance Buchanan officiating.
