Lester Douglas “Doug” Adams, a cherished husband and father, peacefully left us to be with the Lord after a long battle with illness on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the age of 69. He was passionate about NASCAR/Dirt Car racing and enjoyed hiking and being outdoors to fully enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and sharing it with his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He always had a great sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. Though we mourn his loss, we are forever grateful for the time we had with Doug. His love, laughter, and his spirit will live on in our hearts and in the countless lives he touched. To quote a close friend, “Doug is hiking the most beautiful trail of his life with restored strength and vigor, renewed spirit and smiling eyes because the Lord is by his side and walking with him.” He is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Vivian; children, Christina Adams and Michael Adams; and claimed grandchildren, Kinley Sophia and Ayden Tanner Stoutt. Doug was especially close to his surviving siblings, Jerry (Dianna) Adams, June (T.J.) Collins, Mike Adams, Brenda (Gary) Fields, Phyllis (Terry) Sturgill, and Jackie Rutherford; and special mention of his niece, Lydia Stoutt. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th at Witt Baptist Church: 960 Witt Road, Morristown, TN 37813. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church. Private graveside services will held on Wednesday, March 19th. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Witt Baptist Church. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
