Lillie Dalton Southerland, age 88, of Bean Station, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at her residence. She loved attending church at Lakeshore Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member. She professed faith in Christ at Providence Missionary Baptist Church on the last day of December in 1949. Lillie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking with her girls, making the best biscuits, fried apple pies, and apple stack cakes. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Dollie Dalton; first husband, Willis “Bill” Dalton; granddaughters, Tiffany McBee and Tessie Moore; brothers, Rector Dalton and Limmie Dalton; sister, Dora Dalton; and son-in-law, Harvey Kinser. She is survived by her husband, Donnie Southerland; children, Louise Kinser, Lois (Tony) Morie, Rosemary (Robert) Hayworth, Ed (Gretta) Dalton, and C.H. (Tammy) Dalton; seven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Dr. McNabney for their care. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12th at Lake Shore Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station with Rev. Lonnie Dalton, Rev. Larry McAnally, and Rev. Gary Samson officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Lakeshore Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
