Magalee "Margaret" (Lawson) Purkey

Magalee “Margaret” Purkey, age 93, of Mooresburg, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Signature Healthcare in Rogersville. She was a member of Slate Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Mooresburg. She was a lifelong caregiver, loved the Lord and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Purkey; son, Michael Purkey; parents, Lon and Addie Lawson; brothers, Carl Lawson and Everett Lawson; and sisters, Stella Royston, Goldie Depew, Nina Trent, Helen Lawson, and Imogene Lane. She is survived by sons, Ronnie (Christine) Purkey and Donnie (Karen) Purkey; sisters, Faye (Jack) Ferrell, Wanda Carroll, and Brenda Anderson; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm on Tuesday, July 2nd at Slate Hill Primitive Church. Funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Rev. Robert Jarnigan and Rev. Jamie Jarnigan officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkpatrick Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
