Mary "Kathy" Katherine (Clouse) Lane

Mary Katherine “Kathy” Lane, age 84, of Bean Station, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a long-standing member of Rocky Summit Missionary Baptist Church and retired twice from Walters State Community College. Kathy was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family, friends, gardening, the outdoors, traveling, and her dog, “Prissy.” She was a woman whose life was defined by love, kindness, and generosity of spirit. She touched countless lives through her compassion, listening ear, and her unwavering support of those around her. She will be dearly missed by all of those lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lane; parents, Aaron and Elizabeth Clouse; brothers, Monroe Clouse, Gene Clouse, Junior Clouse, Hubert Clouse, Elmer Clouse, James Clouse, and Tommy Clause; and sisters, Ruby Martin, Ima Gene Clouse, and Betty Tanner. She is survived by her daughter, Lorie Lane; granddaughter, Brianna Lane; special nephew, Mark Tanner; special niece, Nesha Winstead; and several more nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, February 6th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Caleb Alder, Rev. Matthew Alder, and Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7th at Rocky Summit Church Cemetery in Bean Station for graveside services.
