Obituary

Maxine S. Pearson, age 90, born March 17, 1932, of Morristown, entered eternal rest, reuniting with her family and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Quinton Pearson; parents, Henry and Nola Coward Simpson; brothers, Cecil (Flora) Simpson, Elmer (Roberta) Simpson, Bart (Jeannie) Simpson, Dana (Jeanette) Simpson, and Henry, Jr. (Evelyn) Simpson; sisters, Bonnie (Paul) Porter, Lois (Joe) Arnott, and Nellie Carroll Barnes (first husband, Connor Carroll, second husband, Tipton Barnes); and brother-in-law, Henry Wood. Maxine is survived by her sons, Jim Pearson and Perry (Patricia) Pearson; sister, Mary Wood of Mooresburg; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Regency Retirement Village and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21st at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Tim Jones officiating.
