Michael Emerson Smith

Michael Emerson Smith, age 68, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a former owner/operator of KFC Restaurants in Morristown, Jefferson City, and Rogersville. He was a life-long Atlanta Braves fan and loved U.T. football. Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was always supporting his growing family through love and prayers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Bettye Smith; granddaughter, Taylor Smith; and infant sister, Peggy Anne Smith. He is survived by his wife, Karen Smith; son, Tim (Mary Ellen) Smith; daughter, April (Mychal) Mills; grandchildren, Judah Smith, Treyson Mills, Amiah Clevenger, and Omarian Mills; and sisters, Debbie (Carroll) Dotson, Pamela (Kenny) Cupp, and Linda Carpenter. A celebration of life worship service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 24th at Heritage Fellowship Church. The service will be live streamed at heritagefellowship.us. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
