Nell T. (Trent) Cody

Nell T. Cody, age 97, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was the oldest member of Alpha Baptist Church. She was a school teacher for forty-two years. She started teaching in Hancock County and then spent the majority of her teaching career in the Hamblen County School System. She attended LMU, Carson-Newman, and the University of Tennessee where she obtained her Master’s degree. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Hannah Trent; infant daughter, Alice Elizabeth Cody; sons, Eddy (Judy) Cody and Bill Cody; brothers and sisters, Kyle Trent, Velena Roberts, Susie Seal, and Dean Trent; and great-great grandson, Ridge Davis. She is survived by her grandchildren, Carolyn (Nate) Nelson, Allen (Holly) Cody and Holly (Brad) Epps; great-grandchildren, Candace (Brad) Davis, Kaitlyn (Tyler) Wilson, and Chloe Epps; great-great grandchildren, River Davis and Braylon Wilson; sister, Nan Warren; several special nieces, nephews, neighbors and her Sunday School Class whom she loved dearly. Family and extended family will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23rd at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Heath Smith officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
