Nellie Mae (Phillips) Elmore, age 95, of Talbott, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She was a member of Paint Rock Baptist Church in Scott County and later joined Community Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Talbott. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Cordell Elmore; parents, Nancy and James Phillips; sisters, Bertha Byrd and Louise Newport; brothers, Cecil, James E., Maynard, Ewell, and Leland Phillips; grandson, Bobby Allan Musser; and great-great grandson, Luka Adkins. She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Sandra) Elmore of Talbott, William (Diana) Elmore of Pioneer, TN, Gladys (Charles) Dickenson of Jefferson City, Shirley (Bill) Stump of Jefferson City, Cloretta (Bill) Lyle of Talbott, Kathy (Charles) Letterman of Jefferson City, and Darlene (Carter) Lawson of Bulls Gap; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and special friend whom she loved like a daughter, Kathy Branch. Special thanks to the staff at Avalon Hospice for everything they did, to nurse, Miranda Burke for her great care and being extra gentle with Nellie, and to her CNA, Deana Patterson who was always so patient with her. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 11th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 12th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dennis Caldwell officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
